Parkside Preschool has been serving the community for over 60 years. We are situated on a large block, with well-established trees and shrubs, overlooking Hagenauer Reserve.
We offer 3 and 4 year old Kindergarten programs, where children are able to explore and experience many activities, both new and familiar. The children are encouraged to be responsible for their own learning and to develop self-motivation.
Within this safe, caring and fun kindergarten environment, our lovely staff help further your child’s social and personal development, and provide fundamental elements to create a life-long love of learning.
At Parkside Preschool, we encourage children to play, observe, interact and respect the natural environment, incorporating sustainable practices. We also teach and model reusing and recycling in our activities.
Parkside Preschool has been rated as Exceeding National Quality Standards. Our experienced, qualified and skilled educators strive for excellence and continually seek to improve in all aspects of their work.
We are proud to provide a multicultural curriculum, which includes celebrating a variety of cultural events and holidays throughout the year. Families are encouraged to share their values, skills and traditions to enrich the children’s learning.
We run a program to help children cope with the exciting and challenging period of change that marks their transition to primary school. We work in partnership with our local schools to help make children’s transition as smooth as possible.
Excursions and incursions are incorporated into our programs. These are a great way for the children to have new experiences and learn more about themselves, as well as the world around them.
At Parkside Pre-school we recognize the critical importance of children, families, the environment and Educators working collaboratively, in a learning community that is built on respectful relationships. Children learn through relationships and we believe that it is through these that we can nurture their sense of self, and empathy for others and their environment. We provide a secure and stimulating environment where happiness and a desire to learn are cherished.
Within our play-based approach, children are encouraged to be involved in independent decision making, communicative and collaborative learning.
We view each child as an individual and acknowledge that they come from a variety of family and cultural backgrounds. Highly qualified Educators design, implement and evaluate innovative and current programs, that reflect Early Childhood theory and research, underpinned by Australian Government Curriculum guidelines.
At Parkside we believe that developing language skills is of absolute importance for young children’s success now and later in life. They are supported in creative thinking, problem solving and inquiry – initiated by children, families and educators – we are all learning.
