Please note bestchance Training can come to your workplace (minimum of 12 for onsite group bookings) to deliver on site at your centre during the week or at weekends.
Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting (HLTAID004):
HLTAID004 is an intensive short course designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, until the arrival of medical or other assistance; with a specific focus on an Education and Care setting. Participants will manage the casualty or casualties, the incident and other firstaiders. Please note it is a requirement of this course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the floor.
Course content includes first aid management of:
- Cardiac arrest
- An unconscious casualty
- Bleeding and wounds
- Fractures, strains, sprains and dislocations
*Please note that ACEQA have stated the following via it’s website in relation to HLTAID004 – “This qualification satisfies all requirements for first aid, anaphylaxis management and emergency asthma training”
bestchance Training offers two different types of streams for this course:
One day refresher program: This one day refresher course is aimed at those who are updating or refreshing their First Aid training. Students are required to complete reading of a pre-course workbook and answer a questionnaire prior to attending class. Students must submit their completed questionnaire on or before the morning of the workshop. Students should allow 2-4 hours to read the pre-course workbook and complete the questionnaire as well as 8 hours for class attendance.
Two day full program: This two day full course is aimed at anyone who is new at completing First Aid training.
Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID001):
This course covers all the skills and knowledge required to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines. Please note it is a requirement of this course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the floor.
Course Outcome: Upon completion participants will be issued with a statement of attainment valid for 1year.
Course Duration: Half day, 3 hours
Entry Requirements: Nil however some pre-course work is required by the student

- Completed workbook/questionnaire if applicable
- Identification – i.e. drivers license
- Comfortable clothing
- Lunch, as this is not supplied. We do provide access to tea/coffee and snacks via vending machines
