Specialist Teacher

What do we do?

A Specialist Teacher is a qualified and experienced teacher with a special education qualification who develops and delivers specialized learning programs for children with a range of abilities. They have experience working in schools, kindergartens and the home environment to address barriers to learning. They work with families and teachers to build capacity and provide extra support and resources for children’s learning. Specialist Teachers regularly work alongside other allied health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to a child’s care and development. This supports a referral pathway for further consultation when needed.
