Yesterday, some of the wonderful bestchance volunteers met at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne for their End of Year Party.

bestchance has volunteers in a range of its programs from kindergartens to administrative staff, who gain experience in the workforce and accreditation through free short courses. The Volunteers Program allows bestchance to provide high quality services to the community, with the team supporting a range of departments across the organisation.

After a delicious lunch prepared by the Boon Wurrung Café, the guests gathered by the Red Sand Garden. The sun shone bright on the group, who were led to a waiting bus for their guided tour of the beautiful gardens. Everyone laughed and chatted, as they marveled at the passing flora and the native Australian plants. It was a beautiful day for a tour, with the guide sharing information about the beautiful plant life and displays that they passed.

The event celebrated the end of the year for the bestchance volunteers, who came from across Melbourne to attend the event. bestchance service provision spans Regional Victoria, so many were unable to attend, but are appreciated no less. From the amazing individuals who give their time and dedication to the Gardening and Maintenance team and the kindergartens across Melbourne, to the Sew and Sews who support the Family support Services, all make bestchance’s work possible.

Leaving the gardens with smiling faces, and carrying the gifts given by Allison and Shweta from the Volunteer Support team, the day was a success for all who attended.

Thank you to all our amazing volunteers who allow us to continue to support the community.
