A place of imagination and discovery!
At Dandenong West Primary Kindergarten, we encourage exploration and interactive learning, which supports children to build confidence, enhance their social skills and expand their physical abilities. Our 4 Year Old Kindergarten program provides a warm, caring and safe environment where children belong to a group and learn to interact positively with others.
With our tailored programs, enthusiastic educators and beautiful learning spaces, Dandenong West Primary Kindergarten is the perfect place to start your child’s learning journey!
At Dandenong West Primary Kindergarten, we have large indoor and outdoor play spaces to give the children plenty of room to move and explore. We are official participants in the SunSmart program.
DIVERSE CURRICULUM
We are located in a diverse community. Our curriculum is a celebration of multiculturalism and includes a variety of cultural events throughout the year. Our program focuses on social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative learning.
COMMUNITY EXCURSIONS
Our curriculum includes regular excursions to explore the local community. The children experience a range of new activities, meet new people, visit new places and develop an understanding of the world around them.
SCHOOL READINESS
We support children to help them cope with the exciting and challenging period of change that marks their transition to primary school. We work in partnership with Dandenong West Primary to make our children’s transition as smooth as possible.

Our Educational program will reflect and be shaped by the Early Years Learning Frameworks and the National Quality Frameworks.
We provide a warm, caring and safe environment with a flexible routine. For example these include transitional periods (arrival time) mat time, learning through play time, snack time, toileting, outdoor routines.
We respect families’ essential contribution that they make to their child’s learning and development. For example our Families attending this year value their children’s learning and health(nutrition) and safety (climate seasonal)
We believe that adults (Families and Educators) are facilitators of children’s learning. This is achieved by learning through play for example: role modelling, intentional teaching, problem solving, repetition, exploring. Collaboration between Families and Educators are fundamental in providing opportunities for children’s learning and development so that it will enable them to reach their full potential.
We encourage a sense of belonging by recognising that everyone within our community is an individual. We acknowledge and value our diverse cultural differences. Our practice demonstrates anti-bias approach to planning and programming.
We recognise and value the knowledge and commitment of staff and fully support their continuing professional development.
As the Early Childhood Community changes so does our Professional Learning and Development as Educators. This will reflect in our Philosophy and daily practices.
