The students of The Cheshire School are kicking goals, with a visit from Stefan Mauk last Friday.

Stefan is an Australian soccer player, who plays for A-League club Brisbane Roar. He has previously played for Melbourne City Football Club as well as internationally. The students practiced their soccer skills led by the sporting star, learning techniques and perfecting their talents.

It seemed Mauk had met his match when the energetic and enthusiastic students bested him at goal scoring. They were impressive, dribbling, kicking and maneuvering around Stefan to score against him. Though spectators may have suspected Mauk was going easy on the students of The Cheshire School, students and staff remain convinced they beat the international soccer star.

The visit was a tremendous success, offering students the opportunity to engage with their class mates and others in a constructive, outdoor environment. The Cheshire School has had many visitors in the past, with visitors being an important part of setting students up for success through hands-on learning and interactive education. Fortnightly excursions, special guests and ‘Fun Fridays’ are all incentives and positive rewards used at The Cheshire School to teach children about responsibility for their actions and immerse them in their learning.
