Pakenham Kindergarten

27 Main Street, Pakenham, VIC 3810

Providing children with opportunities to explore, imagine, play and discover their world!

At Pakenham Kindergarten, we run 3 and 4 year old Kindergarten programs, where your child will learn, play, explore and have fun. We provide a play based program, where children have a strong sense of wellbeing, can make new discoveries, accept challenges and take risks.

Kindergarten is a very exciting time for the children and their families and we aim for all to have very happy memories of their time at Pakenham Kindergarten.

Excursions are a key part of our curriculum, as venturing out into the local area allows children to explore the world around them, and feel a part of a community.

We encourage active exploration and interaction with the learning environment. We have large indoor and outdoor play spaces so that children have plenty of room to move and explore.

We provide a multicultural curriculum and celebrate a variety of cultural events throughout the year. Our curriculum supports social, emotional, cognitive, physical and creative learning.

Our Philosophy

Our Program Focus:

  • To recognise and value each child as unique in personality, individual learning style, family background and culture.
  • To create a physical and social learning environment which, caters for each child’s individual needs.

In each child we aim:

  • To foster high self esteem and independence.
  • To develop a love of learning and an inquiring mind.
  • To nurture creativity.
  • To develop the ability to relate to peers through forming friendships and learning to resolve conflict in a positive manner.
  • To establish and maintain respectful, trusting relationships with other children, educators, the environment and themselves.

For Parents:

  • To create a welcoming and culturally inclusive environment where all families are encouraged to participate in and contribute to the children’s learning and developmental experiences.
  • To work in partnership with staff to foster open communication so that they have the opportunity to express ideas, to make contributions and feel a sense of belonging within the kinder community.
