We have large indoor and outdoor play spaces so that children have plenty of room to move and explore. Our environment supports social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative learning.

We provide a multicultural curriculum and celebrate a variety of cultural events and holidays throughout the year. We also discuss Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in our curriculum.

Excursions are a key part of our curriculum in our 4 year old group. Venturing out into the local area allows children to explore the world around them, and feel a part of a community.

At Hollins Children’s Centre, we are very conscious of keeping our staff and children safe in the sun; therefore, we are official participants in the SunSmart program.

Our Philosophy

At Hollins Children’s Centre, we believe:

  • Strong and respectful relationships with children, families and professionals underpin our practice. We work hard to build and maintain our relationships within our community.
  • Informed teaching and reflective practices ensure quality outcomes for all.
  • Learning is life-long and continually strive to increase our knowledge base through professional development and critical reflection on practices.
  • Thoughtful, stimulating, safe, responsive and nurturing learning environments enhance quality play experiences, learning and interactions. We intentionally plan and prepare our learning environment to help support healthy development through inquiry based learning.
  • Every child is unique and capable. We build on children’s strengths and believe in setting high expectations for children, so that with support and encouragement, children will meet challenges and find success.
