Andrew’s Community Kindergarten

210 Henty Way, Pakenham, VIC 3810

Where children thrive in a nurturing and stimulating environment!

At Andrew’s Community Kindergarten, we run 3 and 4 year old Kindergarten programs. Our educational program is play based, open-ended and provides opportunities for children to learn, as they discover, create and imagine.

The program is designed to allow children to move between indoor and outdoor play areas. Our experienced Educators support children to connect with the natural environment as well as promoting awareness of environmental and sustainable practices.

Our Philosophy

Our program is guided by the National Early Years Framework – Belonging, Being and Becoming and by the Victorian Early Years Framework. We believe that for children to realise their full potential they must:

  • Have some control over the direction of their learning
  • Be able to learn through experiences of touching, moving, listening, seeing and hearing
  • Have a relationship with other children and with material items in the world
  • Have endless ways and opportunities to express themselves

To achieve this:

  • We recognise the uniqueness of each child and family and the need for children to develop an understanding and respect for self and others
  • We create an environment where children: feel they belong, are safe, can be independent and are respected
  • We acknowledge that children belong first to a family. We respect the diverse cultures of children and families. We encourage the children, parents and educators to be partners in a learning community that promotes the wellbeing, education and development of all children
  • We provide opportunities for children to: imagine and create, master skills, have meaningful experiences, express thoughts and ideas, and solve problems

The roles of our educators is to:

  • Have sound knowledge of the Code of Ethics and have this as a basis in all interactions with children and families at our centre
  • Provide a stimulating and responsive environment where positive reinforcement and encouragement make learning possible
  • Participate in continuous Professional Development.
