Children making money with Holly today after Charlotte found a solution for the fact that we didn’t have any money in the cash register. She just said ‘“It’s okay because we can make them. Teacher I need scissors please!”. So many children came to help Charlotte to make money. They made a lot. When children see language and number concepts used around them in meaningful ways (through play), and as part of their everyday experience, they begin to internalise them. They begin to recognise words, letters, numbers, use language, and ideas that they have seen educators or other children use. Throughout the Term, we have been incorporating literacy and numeracy in fun ways, which has helped the children retain a better understanding and enjoyment of learning.
