Who are we? Our project focuses on ways in which we can help protect our environment and the living things that live in them. We found a lovely book called Grace’s Mystery Seed by Juliet M. Sampson. What a delight! It is a beautiful story about watching and waiting for a seed to grow, nurturing, the excitement of not knowing what something is, patience, science, measurement and teamwork. Last week we collected the children’s voices on how they are looking after their plants and how seeds turns into plants. Their voices along with some amazing drawings (seeds, sunflowers, fruits and vegetables) are collected in a book on our display shelf. The children are involved and eager to investigate the life cycle of their own sunflower plant. Thank you Jess, Robbie’s mum and Russell, Leilani’s dad for gifting your time, coming and gardening with us, so the children can enjoy and experience this.
