I am a mother of 2 grown up kids and have been a Family Day Care Educator for the past 26 years. I have looked after over 150 children and I am particularly proud of the many children I looked after from the time they wore nappies to their first day at school. Things I love about my job include everything from the tears, tantrums and grubby hands to the children’s curiosity, creativity, cheekiness and giggles. Some children I have cared for, who are now almost as tall as me, still visit me from time to time! To me this is the best indicator that my home environment is safe and enjoyable and that I have played an important role in these children’s lives.
Before Family Day Care, I was a school teacher and I just loved working with children. I enjoy being with the children and helping them to grow into kind, considerate people. I am proud of the service I provide and how much the parents value my service. They recommend me to others and often help me find new families.
