I have been a Family Day Care educator since 2016 and have been working in the field of early childhood since 2004, when I completed Montessori training overseas. I decided to become a Family Day Care Educator as I enjoy working with children and I liked the idea of home based care. It is a privilege to be part of a child’s development.
Being a Family Day Care Educator, I am able to support children in their learning and independence in a relaxed and unhurried environment. I like being spontaneous and following the children’s interests and I enjoy sharing my knowledge with the children. I enjoy learning alongside the children and I like how children of all ages learn from each other in this type of setting. I am proud of the relationships that I build with the children and families. The parents of the children I care for say I am kind hearted and have lots of patience.
A typical day for us includes outings such as going to the park, going to the library and playing both indoors and outdoors. My program has a strong focus on art and craft activities and children exploring their creativity.
