I am experienced early childhood educator with a philosophy that children’s learning is play based. I have an extensive range of indoor and outdoor play equipment. The backyard has a natural garden setting where the children can explore nature and enjoy rainbow lorikeets and wattlebirds. There are areas to encourage group play or to have quiet times. Climbing frames, bikes, balls, swings, ladders and a cubby encourage fine and gross motor skills. Craft, music, books, games and puzzles play an important role in my program to encourage literacy, numeracy, multiculturalism and physical activity. I incorporate natural materials or natural elements into each child’s program as much as possible.
I work to encourage each child’s independence and self esteem and to get him/her ready for the next step, being kindergarten or school. My location, near Camberwell Junction (South East of Junction) puts us within easy walking distance of our regular outings into the community which include story telling and school holiday programs at the library, book group, park, birthday morning teas at cafes and movies at the Rivoli.
