An independent quality assessment of the bestchance Registered Training Organisation (RTO) was recently undertaken by the Higher Education & Skills Group in 2017

Highlights:
- Proportion of VET students who are satisfied with training provided by the RTO 86.5% vs the state average 76.5%
- Proportion of VET students reporting a positive perception of teaching 88.9% vs the state average 67.7%
- Proportion of VET students reporting a positive perception of the assessment process 83.0% vs the state average 70.0%
- Proportion of VET students who achieved their main reason for training 88.7% vs the state average 72.7%
- Proportion of VET students who recommend the RTO 92.5% vs the state average 73.8%
- Proportion of VET students going onto further study at a higher level than their completed training 14.3% vs the state average 19.0%

Choosing this RTO
The main reason that students reported for choosing this RTO was ‘I heard good things about them’ (27.5%).
Withdrawals
Students who finished at least one module but did not finish the entire course were asked why they left training early without completing. One of the most common reasons reported was ‘I changed jobs or started a new job’ (16.7%).
Conclusion
This independent quality assessment undertaken by the Higher Education & Skills Group underpins the quality provision of the RTO. In many areas it places the RTO in the top 25% of (funded) RTO’s in Victoria. In all areas assessed the RTO surpassed the state average with the exception of one area which was “the proportion of VET students going onto further study at a higher level than their completed training”.
It is anticipated the RTO received a relatively low score on this rating as there is not a clear career progression incentive for students to undertake a VET qualification higher than the Certificate III in Education Support and/or the Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care.
However there are opportunities for students to undertake further study at a tertiary level. To this end management have already commenced preliminary conversations with tertiary institutions to develop pathways for students and also to provide credits and entry pathways for studies already completed. This will be a key focus for the RTO in 2018.
