This course is suitable for those already working in the industry wanting to improve their skills, update their knowledge or gain formal recognition for skills learnt, people returning to work, school leavers and mature age students. Those seeking an apprenticeship or traineeship in cooking will find this to be appropriate pre-employment training.

It is designed to provide you with the appropriate skills and knowledge to secure employment in restaurants, hotels, hospitals, clubs, motels, casinos and gaming venues.
Units:
Prepare sandwiches
Prepare appertizers and salads
Prepare vegetables, eggs and farinaceous dishes
Provide food & beverage service
Provice responsible service of alcohol
Develop and update fppd and beverage knowledge
Work with colleagues and customers
Prepare and service expresso coffee
Apply point of sale handling procedures
Recognition:
Your qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
Selection Criteria:
Motivation and commitment to complete the course. Please note that all applicants are required to attend an interview.
Course Length:
11 weeks (3 days per week)
Commencement Date:
Monday, Tuesday and Friday
6th October - 11th December
Assessment:
Mostly practical, however, some written and verbal presentations are required.
