Course Details:
This unit covers basic food safety practices including personal hygiene and conduct when working in a food service environment. It is the basic level of competence required by local government for those involved in food handling in hospitals, nursing homes and childcare centres.
Course Content:
Maintain food safety while carrying out food handling activities
Comply with personal hygiene standards
Recognition:
On successful completion of the course, students are issued with a Statement of Attainment for the unit 'Follow basic food safety practices' which is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework. Participants wishing to engage in further education will gain recognition for this competency.
