Suitable for:
This course is primarily aimed at those currently employed in community care or for committed individuals who are driven to enter an area where there is an increasing demand for qualified staff. Work placements are organised in the first few weeks of the course for students not currently working in the field.

Career Opportunities:
Personal carers assist the elderly and disabled living in the community to live independently. They are employed by local government, community organisations, home and community care services.

Recognition:
Your qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework.

Selection Criteria:
An enrolment interview will be conducted to ensure that the applicant possesses the motivation to complete the course and has an aptitude for aged care work.

Course Length:
19 weeks (2 days per week) and
130 hours work placement

Commencement Date:
Monday and Tuesday
2nd February - 22nd June

Wednesday and Thursday

4th February - 25th June

Assessment:
There is a large practical component with some assessment undertaken in the workplace, however, written and verbal presentations will also be required.

Tuition Fees:
$462.00 (full fee)

$55.00 (concession fee - may be waived in extreme hardship)
