These qualifications are aimed at people who wish to work as personal care assistants within aged care facilities or in the communit with elderly or disable persons.
Personal care assistants work in supported accomodation settings such as nursing homes, hostels and day centres, private homes, boarding hourse or independent living units providing assistance with physical activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, grooming and eating. In community settings carers may also assist with personal care,shopping, cooking, home care and other activities involved with daily living and recreation.
Career Opportunities:
Workers in these occupational groups work in residential facilites or inthe community under direct or regular supervision within clearly defined organisational guidelines and service plans. These workers carry out activities related to the maintenance of an individual's personal carea and/or other activities of living. These workers report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers.

Recognition:
Your qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
Selection Criteria:
An interview will be conducted to ensure that the applicant possesses the motivation to complete the course and has an aptitude for aged care work.
Course Length:
One full semester
Consisting of 3 days per week class time and
130 hours of work placement.
Commencement Date:
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
9:00am - 3:00pm
12th July 2010 - 1st December 2010
Assessment:
Mostly practical, however, some written and verbal presentations are required.
Course Fees:
Full fee: $942.00
Concession: $420.00
The fee structure will be discussed at the interview.
This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding.

DUAL QUALIFICATION
For only and extra $70 you can receive a dual qualification. You will receive a certificate in both CHC30208 Certificate III in Aged Care and CHC30308 Certificate III in Home and Community Care. Please refer to the Dual Qualfication page for further details.
