Committee of Management
Des Dodds - President
Des has been a member of the Committee of Management since 1998 and was elected as President in 2006. As a law professional for over 30 years, Des' legal background has been of great assistance to bestchance over the years.
Denis Liubinas - Vice President
Denis joined the Committee in 1999 and was elected as Vice President in 2006. He is a pharmacist and a partner in several businesses. With extensive experience in business management and public relations, Denis takes an active role in developing marketing initiatives. Denis believes that support for childhood problems and family issues in childhood contribute to many of the issues seen in disaffected young adults. He gives his support to this organisation as he sees bestchance as a world class leader in developing programs for early childhood intervention and better childhood learning. Hopefully, one day this effort may contribute to happier lives and harmonious community.
Glenys Grant O.A.M. - Secretary
Glenys has been associated with bestchance and other community organisations for over forty years. During this time, she has contributed greatly to the lives of many children as a foster mother - a commitment she continues today. Glenys has been involved in many educational and research scientific activities both in Australia and overseas and in 2006 was awarded the Order of Australia medal for her exemplary services to medicine and the community.
Geoffrey Milbourne - Treasurer
Geoff began his association with bestchance in 2003 and joined the Committee of Management in 2007. He has assisted with fundraising activities and has taken on the position of Treasurer for the Committee of Management.
Geoff works as a Financial Planner and has over 18 years experience in the financial services industry.
Arden Joseph
Arden joined the Committee in 1996. He is the Executive Regional Director, Melbourne Metrolpolitan and Gippsland Regions for the Department of Planning and Community Development.
Gary Edwards
Gary joined the Committee in 1981 after prior membership of the Property Sub-committee. He has managed and directed several companies, and has a background in health and educational architecture, having lead many projects throughout Australia and internationally. His expertise in property, building construction, contract administration and project co-ordination has been of great assistance to the Committee, particularly in relation to property development advice. He chaired the Property Sub-committee involved in the purchase of our campus at Glen Waverley and became a Life-Governor in 1986. His honorary work has included support and involvement with a number of charities and sporting bodies, both directly and through Freemasonry.
In 1975, he received the Royal Institute of Architects Victorian Chapter’s inaugural ‘President’s Award’ for his outstanding contribution to the profession of architecture; and in 2007, he received the 'International Health Professional of the Year Award' for his innovative health facilities architecture, from the IBC Cambridge, England.
